Ranch  Rodeo

2019 saw the first Didsbury Ag. Society Ranch Rodeo. 
 

Traditionally, ranch rodeos saw teams of cowboys and cowgirls (usually ranch hands) compete against teams from neighbouring ranches. Events were based on work they did everyday.

 

Today's ranch rodeo is very similar. Contestants are not professional cowboys, the events are still based on everyday ranch work, and the contestants continue to compete as teams.

The Didsbury Ag Society Ranch Rodeo included 10 open teams competing in:

• Doctoring

• Ranch sorting

• Ranch horse

• Rustling

and 10 Ladies teams competing in: 

• Ranch cutting

• Ranch sorting

• Ranch horse

• Rustling
